Friends in Lakewood

So, food I believe is the best way to bring friends together because everyone has to eat. After eating pho with Parker and Reed, Kevin, Parker and Jasmine came over to Lakewood to visit me, and boy did we eat. On Friday night, we went to this great arepas place. I had the arepa burger with fries. Arepas are this kind of Venezuelan corn cakes and this place took that, put a burger between and added in pepper jack cheese. Barroco is the place where I had them and you must try it if you are in Lakewood. It is this kind of, hole in the wall place but the best thing about it is the sauces that each table gets. There was a tomato sauce (their spin on ketchup and it was my favorite), a spicy chili mayonaise sauce, a cilantro/pesto like sauce, a pineapple sweet sauce, and a garlic mayo sauce. These sauces made the meal go slowly since we kept on squeezing more onto fries and the burger so you are so full afterwards since you ate so slowly. If that wasn’t enough, the next day I made breakfast so we had biscuits, eggs, blueberry pancakes, hash browns and sausage. This is proof that I can cook, and not just eat my brains out :P
